‘LOOK AGAIN’ by Madeleine Agnew.

We are excited to announce our first ever in-house Exhibition by local artist, Madeleine Agnew.
This collection has been created exclusively for Manor House, and will be available to view & purchase throughout December.

Madeleine has created a series of paintings that bucks the trend of the traditional still life. Their aim is to encourage the audience to “look again” and explore what they’re seeing. What might, at first glance, look like a vase of colourful flowers is made up of beautiful fish tails. A rose bouquet is actually a flight of swans.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is entitled “A busy vase for a busy mind” and is designed for the viewer to take the time to study all the different elements within.

Madeleine Agnew is a local artist from the Holme Valley. She specialises in figurative painting, with a growing collection featuring an intriguing array of portraits that blur the line between the familiar and the fantastical. Among the highlights are whimsical depictions of animals dressed in human attire, alongside stunning portrayals of women adorned with intricate floral and faunal embellishments. Each piece offers a unique exploration of beauty, nature, and the surreal, drawing the viewer into a world where the boundaries of reality are delightfully bent.
